Why Avaya ethernet routing switches?

The ERS 3500 series is rich in features that you won't see in the low-end SME market products. The Ethernet Routing Switch 3500 Series offers compact Ethernet switches designed for small and medium enterprises, branch offices, and open environments requiring silent operation. This series of 10 and 24-port model variants delivers high performance, secure, and resilient Ethernet switching. Choose from a range of models that support 10/100 and 10/100/1000 connectivity, PoE, PoE+, fanless operation and 1 GbE uplinks.

What's new in release v5.1?

This release introduces a couple of new features such as:

  • Resilient Stacking - with all related stacking features (Up to 8 units – 24 port models only. No license necessary, only ERS3500 stack cables required to create a switch stack).
  • New Stack Cables for the ERS3500 (46cm/1.5 foot, 1.5m/5 foot & 3m/10 foot).
  • DHCP Server (Embedded DHCP server – supporting options: 1, 3, 6, 43, 60, 120, 150, 176, 241 & 242)
  • Storm Control (Per port granular control of Broadcast, Multicast & Unicast traffic on packet rate basis, with actions of None, Drop and port Shutdown).
  • Secure FTP (added Agent & Diags image support)
  • EAP Separate Enable/Disable (support to individually enable or disable EAP/NEAP functions on a switch port with EAP Multihost configured)
  • EAP/NEAP Accounting (Basic EAP/RADIUS accounting support)

This standalone fanless unit supports silent operation in open environments and offers eight ports of 10/100/1000 with two SFP ports.

Avaya ERS 3510GT-PWR+
This model features eight ports of 10/100/1000 with support for IEEE 802.3 at Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) and two SFP ports. This is a standalone unit that operates in fanless mode in low power deployments and with a fan for high power deployments.
